Google’s John Mueller was questioned on a Google Webmaster Hangout if the author’s bio page was needed to comply with Google’s E-A-T rules. As a technical problem, Mueller’s reaction downplayed the need for writer bio pages and proposed that it was a user experience problem.
The SEO sector thinks that Google’s Guidelines for Quality Raters describe how to rank Google better. From these rules, the belief that naming who the author is and listing their biography and credentials is a technical necessity for checking off the list of SEO rating signals.
But Google has never said that authorship biographies were a ranking signal. And the Quality Raters Guidelines
